Surface-Mounted / Contraflow
Surface-mounted road studs are traditionally used within work zones to complement temporary road markings. They are available in various colours in order to heighten daytime and night-time visibility and driver awareness, and may also be heard and felt by motorists as they pass over themĀ (the “rumble effect”) due to the fact that they are mounted on the surface.
These low-profile surface-mounted studs are typically spaced from 1.5. m to 24 m apart and are easily installed either with a 2-part epoxy or bitumen. When the work zone needs to be altered, the temporary studs are removed with little or no damage to the existing surface, and without leaving behind any residue.
